چکیده
Some pathological changes: accompanying raw lima bean (RLB) feeding to growing rats were investigated. Among the gross pathological observations severe pancreatic hypertrophy and spleen atrophy. The relative weight of liver was significantly (P< 0M5) decreased while kidney 0.05) increased. relative heart unaffected. At necropsy, small intestine fed 40% RLB aoove dilated filed with light-yellow gassy liquid. Histopathologically, livers above showed focuses coagulative necrosis marked congestion hepatic sinusoids centrolobular veins. depletion lymphoid follicles medullary' sinusoids. There evidence congestion renal blood vessels in high diets. No lesions observed tissues. morphology intestinal apicalmicrovilli generally disrupted. They appeared stunted fragmented especially above. Mononuclei cell infilterate characterized lamina propria api Large intestinal rnicrovilli. microvilli abnormalities detected 100% cooked (control) diet.

Transcriptome Sequencing of Lima Bean (Phaseolus lunatus) to Identify Putative Positive Selection in Phaseolus and Legumes
The identification of genes under positive selection is a central goal of evolutionary biology. Many legume species, including Phaseolus vulgaris (common bean) and Phaseolus lunatus (lima bean), have important ecological and economic value. In this study, we sequenced and assembled the transcriptome of one Phaseolus species, lima bean. A comparison with the genomes of six other legume species, ...
متن کاملLima bean (Phaseolus lunatus) seed coat phaseolin is detrimental to the cowpea weevil (Callosobruchus maculatus).
The presence of phaseolin (a vicilin-like 7S storage globulin) peptides in the seed coat of the legume Phaseolus lunatus L. (lima bean) was demonstrated by N-terminal amino acid sequencing. Utilizing an artificial seed system assay we showed that phaseolin, isolated from both cotyledon and testa tissues of P. lunatus, is detrimental to the nonhost bruchid Callosobruchus maculatus (F) (cowpea we...
متن کاملEvidence for two gene pools of the Lima bean, Phaseolus lunatus L., in the Americas
The lima bean, Phaseolus lunatus L., is a bean species with a broad distribution in the Americas that rivals that of common bean (P. vulgaris). In order to better understand the organization of genetic diversity and the pattern of domestication in lima bean, a review was conducted of the available information on the geographic distribution of wild and cultivated forms of this species. In additi...
متن کاملMolecular diversity of native bradyrhizobia isolated from lima bean (Phaseolus lunatus L.) in Peru.
The diversity of a collection of 21 bradyrhizobial isolates from Lima bean (Phaseolus lunatus L.) was assayed by molecular methods. Moderately high to high genetic diversity was revealed by multilocus enzyme electrophoresis (MLEE) analysis of seven enzyme loci and genomic fingerprints with ERIC and BOX primers. Two groups with differences in growth rate were found among the isolates and their d...
متن کاملNative bradyrhizobia from Los Tuxtlas in Mexico are symbionts of Phaseolus lunatus (Lima bean).
Los Tuxtlas is the northernmost rain forest in North America and is rich in Bradyrhizobium with an unprecedented number of novel lineages. ITS sequence analysis of legumes in polycultures from Los Tuxtlas led to the identification of Phaseolus lunatus and Vigna unguiculata in addition to Phaseolus vulgaris as legumes associated with maize in crops. Bacterial diversity of isolates from nitrogen-...
